County:
Torrance County was created March 16, 1903 from parts of Bernalillo, Santa Fe, San Miguel, and Valencia counties and named for Francis J. Torrance, a promoter who took part in the building of the New Mexico Central Railroad.

Since its first issue in 1962, the Genealogist has been publishing a continuous stream of county, state, and church records as well as other informative articles. Available:
